Rum Raisin Gelato
A customer from the Netherlands requested Malaga gelato, so we decided to make it. In Italy and Europe rum raisin gelato is known as Malaga. Malaga gelato gets its name from Malaga raisins which come from dried Muscat grapes. These raisins have a high amount of natural sugar and are good on their own. Add some rum into the mix along with a custardy gelato base and it’s all good.
To make Malaga, we had to get the right raisins. Then soaked them in some dark rum overnight added them into our top secret custard gelato base. We think the flavor is just amazing but you’ll have to taste for yourself.
