Customers often tell us we make the best gelato outside of Italy while others say we make the best Italian ice cream they’ve ever tasted. We invite you to come and sample our flavors and decide for yourself if Gelazzi makes the best gelato outside of Italy.
Gelato has less air, less fat, and it’s served at a different temperature. Gelato is churned at a much slower speed than traditional American-style ice creams so it’s denser and has a more intense flavor. While those are the basic differences, there’s no definitive answer because gelato - Italian ice cream, is made from the very same ingredients as American-style ice cream except in different proportions.
We prefer to have our gelato eaten the same day it’s made. After gelato is made fresh, its flash frozen in a blast freezer to preserve the shelf life and maintain freshness up to 3months. While you can probably get gelato to last 6months to a year or more, it's best eaten fresh the same day it’s made.
Gelato tends to be lower in fat than most premium ice creams because it's made with milk instead of heavy cream.
Sorbetto is a water based frozen dessert that’s sweetened with fruits, fruit purees, juices, liqueurs, wines, and sugar.
Our sorbet recipes do not include dairy products or eggs. They're made with real fruits, fruit purees and juices, sugar as a sweetener, and water. Sorbettos are a great choice for vegans, vegetarians, and a great alternative for those that cannot eat diary.

We make several flavors of gelato and sorbetto with NO SUGAR ADDED as well as several other LOW SUGAR flavors, and flavors made with Splenda®. Unfortunately there’s naturally occurring sugar in milk, fresh fruits and most everything that has to do with gelato, sorbetto, and ice cream. We are sensitive to diabetics and those watching their sugar intake so we make a conscious effort to offer low sugar and no sugar added options.
